Privacy, in plain words.

Short version: I set no cookies, run no ads, and sell nothing. Last updated 1 November 2026.

This notice covers kousikdutta.com and the three labs on its subdomains: nse.kousikdutta.com (market-lab), fit.kousikdutta.com (fit-lab) and job.kousikdutta.com (job-lab). I, Kousik Dutta, run all of them on my own, from Bengaluru, India. For anything on this page, email me at design.kousik@gmail.com.

Page counts

I count visits with GoatCounter (opens in a new tab), which sets no cookies and doesn’t store your IP address. For each page view it records the page you opened, its title, the site that sent you, your browser and operating system, your screen size, and the country your IP address points to. I use the counts to see which pages get read. They can’t tell me who you are.

All four sites, kousikdutta.com and the three labs, also load Cloudflare Web Analytics (opens in a new tab), which sets no cookies and uses no local storage. It records the page, the site that sent you, your browser, your country and how fast the page loaded, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

What stays in your browser

Some choices are saved in your browser’s local or session storage, on your device only. I never see them, and clearing your site data removes them.

kousikdutta.com. Light or dark theme, whether sound is on, and whether the lights are down.

market-lab. Your theme, your portfolio holdings, the board settings you changed, and, if you add one, your AI provider settings and API key.

fit-lab. Your theme and weekly checklist, plus the assessment in progress in this tab’s session storage, which goes when the tab closes. Your measurements and answers are never sent anywhere.

job-lab. The demo’s tracked applications and settings. The private desk behind the login is mine alone.

market-lab’s AI assistant

The assistant is off until you add your own API key. Your questions, with the part of the board they are about, then go straight from your browser to the provider you picked: Google (Gemini), OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, Groq or Together, or a model running on your own computer. They handle it under their own terms. Nothing passes through me, and I never see your key.

Other services a page uses

Hosting. Every site is served by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and block attacks, Cloudflare processes each request, including your IP address and browser details, under its privacy policy (opens in a new tab). I don’t keep server logs of my own.

Booking a call. The call button opens Calendly (opens in a new tab). What you type there goes to Calendly and to me, so I can hold the meeting.

Email. If you write to me, I keep the conversation in my Gmail inbox.

Fonts. One page, the FutureMBBS prototype, loads its typeface from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when your browser fetches it. Every other page uses fonts served from my own sites.

Links out. LinkedIn, GitHub, Springer, the App Store and other sites I link to have their own policies once you leave.

How long I keep it

Page counts are kept in GoatCounter for as long as the site runs; they hold nothing that identifies you. Emails and booking details stay only as long as our conversation needs them. Anything in your browser stays until you clear it.

Your choices

Ask me what I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and I will do it. A content blocker that stops GoatCounter and Cloudflare Web Analytics stops the counts too, and the site works the same without it. If you appear in a photo or a quote on this site and want it changed or taken down, email me and I will do it.

Credits

I designed and built this site, with AI agents I direct. These are the parts other people made, with the license each one is shared under.

Typefaces. Bricolage Grotesque, Instrument Sans and Instrument Serif, served from my own sites through Fontsource (opens in a new tab), and Fustat on the FutureMBBS prototype, all under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (opens in a new tab).

Sounds. CC0 samples from Freesound, cut and mixed by me. Each author, sample and edit is in the sound credits, under CC0 1.0 (opens in a new tab).

Icons. Lucide (opens in a new tab) (ISC), Simple Icons (opens in a new tab) on the social cards and 3dicons (opens in a new tab) by Vijay Verma (both CC0 1.0), and the light bulb from Microsoft’s Fluent Emoji (MIT License).

Code. React, React Router, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Lenis and Mermaid (MIT License (opens in a new tab)), and GSAP under the GSAP Standard “no charge” License (opens in a new tab).

Logos and products. The company logos on the homepage belong to those companies and imply no endorsement. Screenshots show products I worked on, which belong to the companies that make them.
